You can fulfill your 12 hours of volunteering commitment required with your Lapidary Membership by becoming an instructor! All our classes and workshops are made possible by members who volunteer to teach.

TEACHERS WANTED FOR ALL CLASSES!

The GVR Lapidary and Silversmith Club Needs Education Volunteers!

We know that members love to take classes, but we need members to share their skills to be able to offer classes. Several members who have been teaching for many years are now retiring and we need new teachers to step up. Classes bring in new members; teaching skills to use tools and equipment is vital to keeping new members engaged.

PLEASE consider sharing your knowledge - education is the lifeblood of our great club!

We work with small numbers – on average only four to a class. We offer classes during the late fall through spring and we will add summer classes as teachers become available. Even if you could commit to 2-3 dates to teach and prefer to work as a team, it would be SO appreciated.

The Education Committee suggests that all teachers stress safe equipment usage especially as our part-time members return. For those who offer open workshops, it could be a great time to do refreshers in the late fall-early winter on using our equipment. Class handouts should include safety tips for participants to keep and remember.
