INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION
"Share your passion to inspire others!"You can fulfill your 12 hours of volunteering commitment required with your Lapidary Membership by becoming an instructor! All our classes and workshops are made possible by members who volunteer to teach. TEACHERS WANTED FOR CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS!The GVR Lapidary and Silversmith Club Needs Education Volunteers! We know that members love to take classes and workshops, but we need members to share their skills to be able to offer them. Educational opportunities bring in new members; teaching skills to use tools and equipment is vital to keeping new members engaged. PLEASE consider sharing your knowledge - education is the lifeblood of our great club! Use the links below to propose a new class or workshop: Lapidary Club Workshop Proposal Instructors work with small numbers of students – on average only four to a class. We offer classes and workshops during the late fall through spring, and we add summer classes and workshops as teachers become available. Even if you could commit to only 2-3 dates to teach and/or prefer to work as a team, it would be SO appreciated. The Education Committee advises all teachers to stress safe equipment usage in classes and workshops. For those who offer open workshops, a great time to do refreshers on using our equipment is in the late fall-early winter when seasonal people return. Class handouts should always include safety tips for participants to keep and remember. If you’ve learned from our classes, please consider PASSING IT ON!
